I guess my "death," whilst rumors of it have indeed been greatly exaggerated, is really not that impressive considering for how long a deviantart account can be left, abandoned and alone, in the cold cruel wilderness of the internet. I feel kinda sheepish for not having accomplished even HALF of the actually planned pairing drawings for May, but then again, I did start about half-way through the month, and other things were goin' down. So HA! Confidence resorted. *smug*
Obviously, I've uploaded before this journal, but not nearly enough! So Imma dump a whole bunch of old, REALLY old, and kinda new, plus INSANELY new stuff up in this biznitch, and see how that settles. I've been lacking in the digital art department, but my sketches are going strong (why do you even care? I admire you for reading this, I really do. So much unimportant nonsense...).
Currently, my favorite flavor of art has been god tier designs a la Homestuck. BUUUUUTTT then I took a long-awaited nostalgia trip, and I'm all hyped about Winx Club, which Nickelodeon has taken over. I watched the hour-long 1st season recap special, which was hilarious. The animation is still kinda clunky, but the art quality now matches that of the later seasons, and some inconsistencies have been fixed, and a lot of unnecessary drama has been removed. I'm still on the eeeehhhhhh side about the whole project, though I cannot wait for seasons 5&6, which will occur as a direct result of these recaps. The voice acting... Heh... I want to be on your side, Molly Quinn. I love you in Castle, and I think you make an awesome Bloom, but you need more practice with voice acting. And a dubbing job is not necessarily the best intro to the VA career, either...
So then I wanted to draw Winx characters left and right. That urge lasted about 10 minutes. Until I stumbled upon one of my old internet haunts, codelyoko.fr, and discovered to my delight a fan documentary of the current 4 seasons, including interviews with the VAs and writers, and footage of a car trip to France to the location of the Factory. I nerded. All over the floor. It was messy.
My love for Code; Lyoko is a bit of a sentient being. It lives on enthusiasm and childlike glee. And it CANNOT WAIT until the re-launch of the series with season 5. OMGOMGOMGOMG... There's something so undeniably BRILLIANT about that show. I know, animation sucks, their foreheads make up 3/4ths of their heads, blah blah blah. I was there for the story. The characters. The action. The mystery. The intrigue. THAT F*CKING AWESOME THEME SONG. Oddly enough, this was the show that got me into languages. And computers. And fan art. And AMVs. And the internet. Pretty much everything, really.
On that note, hhmmnyep, 'kay, bye!
